Forms & submissions

A contact form on your site is only useful if the messages reach you. When a visitor submits one, the submission is stored against your site and appears in the Forms inbox in your builder — every field they filled in, with the time it arrived. Nothing has to be configured for this to work, and there is no step where a message can be captured and then lost.

You also get an email when one arrives, so you find out without opening the builder. This matters more than it sounds: a quote request answered three days late is usually a lost customer. The email tells you which site and which form it came from and links straight to the inbox — it does not put the visitor's message in your inbox for you to reply to from there, so the record stays in one place.

One case where no email is sent: a site that has not been claimed by an account has no owner to send to. The submission is still stored, and it appears in the inbox as soon as you sign in and claim the site — nothing is discarded while a site is unclaimed.

Everything in the inbox exports as a CSV you can open in Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers. The export includes every field any of your forms has ever collected, not only the fields in the newest one, so a form you changed halfway through the year does not silently drop a column. Values that begin with a character a spreadsheet would treat as a formula are exported as plain text, because a stranger typing into your public contact form should not be able to put a working formula in your spreadsheet.

Spam is handled at two levels. A hidden field that real visitors never see catches ordinary automated submissions and costs you nothing to use, and there are limits on how often one visitor and one site can submit within an hour. For anything more determined, add your own captcha keys in the site's form settings — they are your keys on your account, not ours, so the challenge belongs to you and the reputation it earns is yours.

Submissions do not cost credits. Receiving, reading and exporting them are free on every plan, including the trial.
